Total Freedom: 6 Nudist Beaches
From Rio to Paraíba: a complete itinerary through beaches where clothing is optional and connecting with nature is the main rule.

Living authentically is one of the pillars of what we believe in here at Bella Club. And few experiences better embody this search for freedom than naturism. Contrary to what many think, the practice in Brazil is organized, respectful, and has clear rules to ensure that the focus is on integration with the environment.
If you're looking to leave conventions behind and recharge your batteries, check out this guide to the 6 official nudist beaches in Brazil and what you need to know before taking your clothes off.
The Map of Freedom: Where Naturism is Law
Currently, Brazil has six havens where nudity is not only permitted, but celebrated under the rules of coexistence established by the Brazilian Federation of Naturism (FBrN).
1 - Abricó Beach (Rio de Janeiro, RJ)

Hidden between the mountains and the sea of Rio de Janeiro's West Zone, it's the ideal destination for those in the capital.
Highlight: Surrounded by rocks and native vegetation, it offers a wild landscape just a few kilometers from civilization.
Rule: Nudity is mandatory in the designated area.
2 - Tambaba Beach (Conde, PB)

A true sanctuary in the Northeast. It is world-famous for its colorful cliffs and natural pools.
Highlight: It is divided into two areas: one where clothing is optional and another, more private, where nudity is mandatory.
Important: Unaccompanied men are not allowed in the main naturist area.
3 - Massarandupió Beach (Entre Rios, BA)

Located approximately 90 km from Salvador, this beach offers a long stretch of sand (about 2 km) dedicated to naturism.
Highlight: The meeting of the river with the sea creates a paradisiacal and relaxing setting.
Rule: Just like in Tambaba, single men have restricted access to the naturist area.
4 - Barra Seca Beach (Linhares, ES)

For those seeking total isolation. Access is only by boat, crossing the Rio Doce.
Highlight: The infrastructure is geared towards camping and family gatherings, making it very popular with couples.
5 - Pedras Altas Beach (Palhoça, SC)

Santa Catarina is a historic stronghold of naturism. Pedras Altas stands out for its calm waters and family-friendly atmosphere.
Highlight: It has an integrated inn and camping area, making it easier for those who want to experience it 24/7.
6 - Olho de Boi Beach (Búzios, RJ)

Small, secluded, and accessible only by a steep trail from Praia Brava.
Highlight: It's the most "authentic" destination on the list. There are no kiosks or vendors, just you and the ocean.
Changes on the South Coast: What you need to know
It's important to be aware: places that were once iconic naturist destinations in Santa Catarina, such as Praia do Pinho (Balneário Camboriú) and Praia da Galheta (Florianópolis), have recently undergone changes in municipal legislation and are no longer considered official nudist beaches. Enforcement has been intensified, and the practice may lead to legal problems in these areas.
The Old School Man's Code of Conduct

Naturism demands character and integrity. To frequent these places, respect for others is a contract that is worth more than any piece of paper.
Visual Respect: Staring in an invasive way at other patrons.
Privacy: Photographing or filming anyone without explicit permission.
Behavior: Acts of a sexual nature are strictly prohibited.
Hygiene: Always use a towel or sarong when sitting in public places.
Nature: Do not leave trash and respect the local fauna and flora.
Living the naturist lifestyle means honoring one's own freedom without infringing on the space of others. At Bella Club, we celebrate the beauty and culture of well-being, always with the integrity and strength that define our legacy.
