The football we see and the football we pretend not to see!

My dear readers and lovers of football — just the way it is, with the ball rolling and the gossip buzzing! The Brazilian Championship has picked up the pace and the fight for the lead has turned into a duel of "who blinks first". We've had unbelievable goals, defenders who (unintentionally) became strikers, and the good old smell of controversy in the air!
The Leader Stumbled, the Second-in-Leader Sped Up: The Seesaw of Leadership!
The weekend's round of matches was an emotional rollercoaster, especially for those eyeing the top of the table. Palmeiras (the team that loves drama) visited Mirassol and... believe it or not! Lost 2-1 .
-
09/11/2025: Mirassol 2 x 1 Palmeiras
-
-
Ironic comment: It seems Mirassol has switched to "pet underdog" mode against Palmeiras. Verdão (Palmeiras) must have thought they were playing a charity friendly.
-
While the league leader blinked , Flamengo (the team that loves a good commotion, both on and off the field) hosted Santos in an attempt to close the gap. And they succeeded, winning 3-2 in a game more exciting than a player's party on a day off.
-
09/11/2025: Flamengo 3 x 2 Santos
-
-
Ironic Comment: Three to two? Flamengo almost managed the feat of drawing with a Santos team that's in the relegation zone and has Neymar in the squad (yes, he's back, causing more of a stir than a leaked nude). Santos gave them such a scare at the Maracanã that the fans were already opening the fridge to get beer to fuel their frustration. Oh, and Neymar? He's already started his first fight, blasting the referee. The kid doesn't waste any time!

Controversies and Gossip: The Authentic Brazilian!
What would our football be without the drama? Things are hotter behind the scenes than a couple's fight on a reality show!
-
Neymar and the Refereeing: The star's return to Santos was explosive. After the defeat to Flamengo, he went straight to social media (the players' new therapy session) to blast the referee, calling him "bad and arrogant." It's good to know that, even in Brazil, some things never change: post-game complaints are more certain than the sun rising.
-
The Fight for the Top Four: Cruzeiro also made an appearance and stumbled, drawing 0-0 with Fluminense . It's the same old story: when you have the chance to get closer to the fight, the ball just doesn't go in. And Fluminense ? They secured a point so as not to leave empty-handed, as if to say: "A draw away from home is our victory, okay?".
-
09/11/2025: Cruzeiro 0 x 0 Fluminense
-
-
-
Ironic comment: A 0-0 draw with Cruzeiro in direct competition is like paying the bar tab and your friend promising to pay you back the next day. You might believe it, but frustration comes as a bonus.

-
And what about Grêmio? The team from Rio Grande do Sul managed a 1-1 draw against Fortaleza away from home, in a game that featured a spectacular goal and a bizarre mistake by the opposing goalkeeper.
-
09/11/2025: Fortaleza 2 x 2 Grêmio
-
-
-
Ironic comment: The Fortaleza goalkeeper must have thought: "The ball was lonely, I'll give it a hug... and drop it at the wrong time!". Grêmio, on the other hand, appreciated the "kindness" and took a point home, proving that sometimes luck is better than judgment.

Mirassol vs Palmeiras |
2 x 1 |
Mirassol proved that even the biggest teams can have their share of small-time opponents. Palmeiras started the game unfocused, and by the time they realized it, it was too late. |

Flamengo vs. Santos |
3 x 2 |
Santos almost spoiled the 'NeyDay' party. Flamengo won, but the scare was so great that the coach's pressure must have reached the level of Christ the Redeemer. |

Cruzeiro vs. Fluminense |
0 x 0 |
The famous "I wanted to win, but Fluminense wouldn't let me." A 0-0 draw is the best friend of those who need a point and the enemy of those who want excitement at the top of the table. |

Fortaleza vs. Grêmio |
2 x 2 |
A bizarre goal to compensate for a lack of creativity. The Fortaleza goalkeeper volunteered to be the poster boy for "how not to do it." Grêmio thanked him and moved on. |
We'll see you in the next column, where we'll surely have more amazing goals, more controversies, and who knows, maybe Neymar getting sent off for complaining again!
