Bruna, you have photographed for two national fashion magazines, Trip and Status. Was it difficult to reach this point of your career? Both opportunities came naturally. I’ve always liked taking sexy photos, and when I was invited to photographed for those magazines, I was very happy and flattered. The same stands for the invitation I got from Bella Club.
Can you tell us about how it all began? I started modeling when I was 13 in the city of Porto Alegre, in the South of Brazil. When I was 15, I moved to Sao Paulo, and after 6 months living there my agency at the time got me a contract for working in Japan. I was abroad for 6 years, and I’ve been to places such as Thailand, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Turkey, London, Paris, Milan, Portugal, Chile and Mexico. With 21 I returned to Sao Paulo, since I felt I needed something more concrete in my life, and I also wanted to be closer to my family (I’m very attached to them!). I was never a supermodel, but I have always been lucky when it comes to meeting nice people and doing good jobs, I’m eternally grateful for having had the opportunity to meet all those cultures, live in all those places, and bringing back with me the memories of each person who was somehow part of my life back then, and who made me grow humanely.
You have a small child. Is it difficult to combine maternity and modeling? Modeling is a job like any other, so I deal with it like any working mom. I travel almost every week, and he stays with my parents (yes, I’m privileged to have their help whenever I need). So I travel knowing that my son’s being properly looked after. But when I’m with him, my time’s all his, and I nowadays prioritize the quality of these moments. My son is my first priority!
How did the nickname “the body” started? That was when I photographed to Status magazine with the photographer Fernando Resende, in Porto Alegre. He called me “the body” during an interview about the publication.
What part of your body do you like the most? My bum.
Is it hard to keep in shape? I have an accelerated metabolism, so I don’t need crazy diets, thank God! I gained 20 kg when I was pregnant, and I naturally lost it afterwards. I’m aware that I need to exercise because I use my body as an instrument of my work, and also for my health. I was once more worried about the way I look, but nowadays, being a mother, my priorities have changed. I feel much prettier after I became a mother, you know that?! I have tried dieting for gaining muscles with professional guidance, but I like eating whatever I want, and I’m not disciplined enough to follow strict diets anyway.
Are there any dreams you’re still after? Many! But I have pretty common dreams, all related to my life’s stability and with my family.
Tell us something crazy you’ve done. It’s hard to say… I live intensely.
Are you into sports? A lot! I have been to kite-surfing classes. When I can I go rowing with my son, I cycle, I like jogging, I weightlift. I currently don’t have enough time to do everything I’d like to do, but I’m exercising whenever I can.
How would you describe yourself using three words? Truthful, perfectionist, scrupulous.
How hard it is to educate a child nowadays? I worry about all the negativity we have nowadays. Today he lives in a world that I present to him (for being so young and all). I present him a world which is colorful and happy. I’m learning along with him, of course, day by day, to being a mother and education another human being. I carry with me every principle that I intend on teaching him. The world’s going through a transformation, and this new generation is coming to change all this and bring peace to humanity. I really believe in this, they are different. They are more sensitive and smart. They have got a lot to teach us, and with faith and love they’re going to transform this planet!
Is there a lot of prejudice in the artistic world? Yes, there is. Especially when things are turned to beauty and sensuality. All jobs are made with love and professionalism, and behind that, most models lead a normal life, they’ve got boyfriends and families. Nothing is associated to prostitution, contrary to what some people think. I never cared about what people think, anyway. This is an amazing job! My parents support me, and that’s all that matters to me.
What is your idea of a perfect weekend? With people I love! It doesn’t matter where I am or what I’m doing. When we spend time with people we love, everything is perfect!
What do you do in bed that men love? Anything they want.
And what do they do that you can’t resist? Being treated with love and respect. It’s something that’s been missing, and I can’t resist to that.
What are your plans for the future? Having my own business and financial stability to enjoy life with tranquility.
If you could meet with any person, dead or alive, who would you choose? My grandparents.
How was it photographing to Bella Club? It was an amazing experience. It was my first frontal nudity job. I confess I was anxious and nervous before posing. I already knew the photographer (Alex Ribeiro), I had photographed with him a couple of times before. I love his job, he’s a reference in photography today, and I feel very comfortable when I’m working with him (that’s called trust!). When I arrived at the location that day, I realized everything is much bigger than we imagine. I worked with a professional team, they were all wonderful. I had a fun, light day. I would like to thank you for the invitation, and also the team who were with me that day, the staff behind-the-scenes, who make this website a success. To all that, somehow, were with me during this photographic experience. I hope the audience likes the result, since everything was made with love for you all.
